The Water-Walker

Topic: Jesus Scripture: John 6:16–21
Jesus is the water-walker, and he is always with us.
What does it mean for God to be with us?
- It doesn’t mean that my life will be easy. Before his ascension, Jesus promised these same disciples that he would be “with [them] always” (Matt. 28:20), yet they all experienced a lot of suffering spreading the good news about Jesus.
- It means that God will give me strength, courage, and peace when life isn’t easy.
- It means that I will arrive at the land to which we are going. When Jesus got into the boat with the disciples, “immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going” (v. 21). Jesus won’t abandon us. He will make sure we get to our desired destination.
