Hungering for What Satisfies

Topic: Eternal Life Scripture: John 6:1–15
Have you ever eaten so much that you said, “I’m not going to want to eat anything for a very long time”? I’ve said that on multiple occasions, but then a few hours later I’m hungry again.
There’s no meal—no matter how big—that will satisfy us forever.
The day after Jesus had fed a huge crowd of people with only five loaves and two fish, he said, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).
You will “not hunger.” You will “never thirst.”
Jesus, of course, wasn’t talking about literal hunger and literal thirst. He was talking about satisfying our greatest need – a need we have whether we realize it or not.
What is our greatest need, and how does Jesus satisfy it?
