More Than a Good Man

Topic: Jesus Scripture: John 5:19–29
In John 5:19-29, Jesus makes several claims about himself.
- The Son does the same things that the Father does (vv. 19-20).
- The Son has the power to raise the dead (v. 21).
- The Son is the ultimate judge of all people (v. 22).
- The Son is to be honoured in the same way that the Father is honoured (v. 23a).
Jesus claims to be more than a good man; he claims to be the God-man.
How important is it that we get Jesus right? It’s extremely important. Look at what Jesus says at the end of verse 23: “Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.”
If you get Jesus wrong, you get God wrong
