Join us in person and online: sundays at 11:00AM

In the New Testament, we see that when people put their faith in Jesus and were baptized, they were added to the church. Acts 2:41-42 says,

So those who received [Peter's] word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Being "added" to the church means more than just joining a group. It signifies a commitment to the life and community of the church. Becoming a church member is making a decision to worship, serve, support, and walk in accountability with fellow believers in a local congregation.

If you would like more information on church membership, we can give you a copy of the booklet Why Should I Join a Church? by Mark Dever.

How Can I Become a Member of Forest Hills?

To become a member, you must be a believer in Jesus Christ, have been baptized as a believer by immersion, and agree with our statement of faith and church covenant.

The membership process includes the following steps:

  1. Fill out a membership form. This helps us get to know you better.
  2. Read I Am a Church Member by Thom Rainer, a short book that explains what church membership is all about.
  3. Meet with one or more of our elders to have a conversation about church membership.
  4. If all goes well, the final step is for the congregation to affirm your membership through a church vote.
